There is more to a tire's value than its initial purchase price. To determine a true cost per mile, it's important to consider factors such as tire life and rolling resistance.
Rolling resistance accounts for up to 20% of a car's fuel consumption—and the figures are even higher for trucks. Although the Michelin green tire is generally more expensive to purchase, the corresponding fuel savings outweigh the initial additional investment. This is especially true with today's ever-increasing fuel prices.
